Hi, I’m Megan! Thanks for stopping by and welcome to my little corner of the internet. Barefoot and Roaming is a space where I share my love of life, family, home, design, gardening, and entertaining. I moved to Ottawa, Ontario from rural Nova Scotia in 2008 to attend Carleton University and I have been in love with Canada’s beautiful Capital ever since.
I’ve always had a do-it-myself mentality (with sometimes biting off more than I can chew eg. Catio Project of 2016) which is thanks to my parents who never backed down from a home renovation or landscaping challenge. Both of my parents are always doing some sort of DIY project at home and they continue to be my inspiration in work ethic and in challenging myself.
My fiance Ryan and I moved into our first home in October of 2019 and we are currently working on renovations and landscaping. It’s been so much fun to work on our home together and make big plans and changes together. I can’t believe we’re turning our dreams into a reality.
